Guwahati : Laura Wolvaardt's outstanding performance led South Africa Women to their first ODI Women's World Cup final, defeating England Women by 125 runs in Guwahati on Wednesday.
Wolvaardt led South Africa to their highest total in the ICC Women’s World Cup, scoring 169 of the team's 319/7. In their chase, England had a poor start, losing their top three batsmen without any runs, leaving them at 1/3 in the second over. Marizanne Kapp took five wickets as England was dismissed for just 194.
The South African team, guided by captain Laura Wolvaardt, approaches the important knockout match after a varied performance in the league stage. SA has shown strong individual performances with both bat and ball to secure a position in the final four.
